Nuclear Engineering Cell in association with PMI organized a two-day seminar on Seismic and Vibration Protection System for Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) on 26-27 September 2023. Industrial developments and practices as well as academic discourses on the subject was shared by GERB Germany, NPCIL & IIT-Gandhinagar. A detailed deliberation was also done on applicability of seismic and vibration protection in NPP and other industries.

The programme intends to standardize the design of NPP structures, industrial structures including SMRs irrespective of seismic zone, thus saving cost and time.

Gracing the occasion, Shri Ujjwal Kanti Bhattacharya, Director (Projects) emphasized on capacity building of the employees in this field. ED (Engineering), ED (Project Management), Associate Director (NPCIL) and Associate Professor (IIT-Gandhinagar) were also present and shared their views.
